This week started out with a nice twist. We went to shul a little earlier than usual because of selichot and we will continue going earlier until selichot. After we came back from shul we met a new student, his name is Arieh Kaplan. We had some nice classes: some of us learned English and some of us were learning Hebrew, and then we had lunch which was accompanied with a round of poker. After lunch, we switched classes and the ones who were learning English went to learn Hebrew and the ones who were learning Hebrew went to learn English. At the beginning of school we were introduced to a new system where when we behave, do homework, and pay attention we receive a dollar for each one we do properly and every other week we get to spend the “money” on prizes like candy, pens and other great stuff. One of our students and one of the staff members got our 3D printer running even though there is still a little glitch or two we believe that they can fix it. On Tuesday one of the students went to an orientation which went for 2- 2 and a half hours including traveling. During that time period the other students learned in their respected classes. In one of the classes that were in session they made an art project which everyone enjoyed very much. At lunch the students played a little more poker which was enjoyed very much. After lunch we had our usual afternoon classes, and after we were finished with our classes before we left for the day we received a letter for the yachad high school leadership shabbaton, we davened mincha and then we left. On Wednesday the day started off with some classes and continued into lunch where we had 2 games going on one was poker and one was Uno. In both games there was a lot of excitement to go around. After the excitement cooled off we went to class and we settled down for the rest of the day. On Thursday we had a slow start but by the end of the day we got some more energy. During the day we first had classes then by lunch our energy levels went up. During lunch some of the students helped make the chulent under the supervision of their teacher Rabbi Bornstein. We then went to the gym where everyone had an awesome time. At lunch time while the students were preparing for the chulent one of the students was preparing for an interview at about 4:00. On Friday everything started of slow and rainy but we still got into the groove of things. We had our usual classes and at the end of the day we got our prizes and got the usual kugel and chulent with some zemirot and a d’var torah.
